The first, introductory live trading video for the Brooks Price Action Best Trades online course Bonus Videos module. Live trading videos will be put on the blog here (and YouTube) occasionally for public viewing.
A survey has been created below to gather feedback on what form of live trading video traders most like to see. It is a real challenge, and time consuming, to produce these videos with much editing of non-action and similar. Some traders may prefer full length unedited videos, but others do not, so some compromise is needed. This video is edited down to under 20 minutes from about 45 minutes. Maybe about 10-12 minutes long if no intro and other non-setup talk.

Inner trading committee in action
When recording live trades and talking through market action, my ‘inner trading committee’ gets distracted. The ‘Tutor’ part of me is doing the talking. But ‘Tutor’ is not the best part to be out when trading! An interesting self-awareness finding.
In the video you see me getting distracted from taking trades without realizing it! A work in progress for sure, as do have to talk on camera often. You can see/hear how inner Trading Committee psychological parts communicate through internal thoughts. I then vocalize those thoughts. Along with animations, this could be quite effective. Just have to avoid allowing the ‘Tutor’ to talk too much!
You will find one live Buy the Close breakout trade on the video. Especially interesting given the late entry, potential resistance, and tight trading range that followed. A good example of order flow support for price action.
Live trading survey
Would appreciate any feedback on the following survey topics. Feel free to add your own answers and comments below. Will keep survey open until further notice.
Without editing, videos could be 1-2 hours in length or more for busy market. Perhaps 30 minutes to one hour would be max time for most videos. Some shorter if slow action and few trades.
In my thinking (DTI Admin), use of animations is a novel way to show 'behind the scenes' trading psychology action. Can be limited to events as shown in Introduction video.
Can test speeding up video on next live trades video to see how it looks and feels.
Future videos will feature multi-contracts, scaling in, and more complex topics.
Just enter your points above or below other questions in survey for other traders to vote on.
*Comment on one point above: You can see contracts used on the NinjaTrader screen markers and on the Jigsaw DOM ladder. I will see how best to show P&L, maybe keep one account for live trade videos only?
Hello Richard, thanks for doing this video. Im still new to trading and I could use all the help i can gather up…..again thanks! Sean
Thanks Sean. Happy to hear the video helps. I am trading just 1 or 2 contracts in these videos to be sure it is reasonable for those starting out or not consistent yet. Have another chart off screen with second broker for more trades as needed.
Richard, I love your trading committee. Very valuable to see your thought processes in real time. All the names made sense to me, but I was wondering where Phoenix came from?
Hi John.
Thanks. Very happy to see your comment, and the general support for animations in survey too. I was a little concerned it might be a distraction from serious trading for some.
Phoenix only comes in when I take off trade, rather than the system closing trade on a profit target or stop. Phoenix is the ‘Destroyer’ Jungian archetype inside out heads/genes and ‘Richard’ my Ruler archetype would ask Phoenix to get me out of trade if it was ‘out of control’. I may have moved stop against plan, etc. Tricky as we all likely know, as once ‘out of control’ we go into a trance and lose touch with inner parts. Hence need to keep aware of our mental condition through routine state changes (standing up, etc) to get back to focused trading.
Thanks for posting this and allowing yourself to be distracted for our benefit. My only criticism was that it didn’t seem like you were focused on the best trades. Scalping for 2 points? Looking forward to more.
Dave
Thanks Dave.
Yes, can see what you mean. Limit order trading at the bottom/reversal using order flow to support trade is either an early MTR (when outside tight channel) or pullback. I did mention ‘pullback’ quite often. And the trade itself was a late breakout, as noted. Best trades.
Initial entry was for a 1 point scalp but moved profit target out given the momentum in channel.
Will iron out distractions soon and get more active and lucrative trades demonstrated. Have one more microphone setup to test this weekend to help improve sound and reduce post-production audio work.
Hi, Richard, thank you for sharing this valuable learing process. Maybe introduce a little bit abour your trading software user interface setup later? thank you.
Hi Xiaoxiao, thanks for your comment.
I introduced the trading platform setup in Unit 28 of the course, so not wanting to repeat too much in these videos.
Non-members can see same ‘Order flow support for price action trading ‘ video on Al’s Brooks Trading Course site here:

Is that what you are looking for?
Hi Richard, thank you, it is very valuable to see live action and trades.
Kind regards

Thanks Peter, happy to hear it helps.
